Hi all!

I'm working through my photos from Nationals; so far the Jr Men's Short and the Ch Pairs Short are up:

http://www.pbase.com/trilby23/2010_cham ... p&page=all

As always, PLEASE let me know about any typos, mislabeled skaters, etc; I do proofread, but my tired old eyes don't always catch everything.

More to come as time allows!

It was nice to see you again, Trilby! We only got to attend Saturday through Monday this year, and somehow photographing IceNetwork doesn't work nearly as well.... ;) So we'll be looking for your photos!

Two more Championship groups are up: Dance CD, and Men's SP:

http://www.pbase.com/trilby23/2010_cham ... d&page=all

http://www.pbase.com/trilby23/2010_cham ... p&page=all

This is probably a good time to mention a few things: I take as many photos as I can of each skater, and I post any pictures that come out well; but inevitably I end up with several shots of some skaters, and just one or two shots of others. The number of usable pictures I get depends on a dozen different things: whether anyone is sitting (or standing) in front of me, how much time the skater spends on my end of the rink, whether I made any stupid mistakes with the camera, and so on. I do not post or save pictures of falls, or pictures that make the skater look obviously awkward or off-balance. Finally, I'm not a trained photographer -- just an enthusiastic fan with some decent quality equipment (most of which I got third-hand from my photojournalist niece).

Hi everyone,

All of my Novice shots are up now. Here's a link to the Novice Gallery:

http://www.pbase.com/trilby23/2010_novice_skaters

Included are some groups already posted, and some new:
Novice Ladies SP & FS
Novice Men SP (FS shots vanished in a horrible cyber-accident)
Novice Pairs SP & FS
Novice Dance FD (Missed the Novice CD, unfortunately)

A few random observations: The Novice Ladies and Novice Dance fields were very deep this year. I could easily see any of the skaters in the last flight or so as Championship medallists in the making.
Winner of Trilby's Favorite Skating Costumes, Novice Devision, are Bronze medallists Joylyn Yang & Jean-Luc Baker for their "Titanic" FD. They looked like they were ready to be extras in the movie: period appropriate, age appropriate, and visually striking. (Honorable mention: Pewter medallist Gracie Gold for both SP and FS)
It's always so nice to see skaters that compete in different disciplines: In the Novices, Ashley Cain was Silver medallist in Novice Ladies and took the Gold along with Joshua Reagan in Novice Pairs; and another "cross-discipline" skater is Jessica Noelle Calalang (she skated Pairs with Daniel O'Shea).

Working on the Juniors already! :-)

AT LAST!! I'm working 3 jobs right now in addition to trying to get a house built, so the photo editing is even slower than usual this year. But I've finally got the Juniors up from Nationals!

http://www.pbase.com/trilby23/2010_junior_skaters

Junior Men SP & FS
Junior Ladies SP & FS
Junior Pairs SP & FS
Junior Dance CD, OD, FD

I hope to get the 2010 Senior photos done before too much longer, or at least before the 2011 Nationals. :-)

Here are my shots of the Exhibition at last, along with a few long-distance and candid shots:

What with all the funky lighting and so on, these are always the most fun to edit; and occasionally the spotlight will let me take a really sharp, clean photo. :-) It's also great fun to look at the Novice & Junior medalists and remember the HUGE smiles on their faces.
